Is Meaningful Use easy, or hard?
We work with about a score of different organizations on ARRA HITECH and Meaningful Use Compliance. Within any organization, opinions vary. The IT Analyst points out that everything exists in the Certified EHR, and has been there long before Meaningful Use and Certification. Very little new, here.
But ED physician who does not, track hieght, weight or problem list for the MI case he's treating finds Meaningful Use inappropriate. So do Hospitalists who need to capture new data on preliminary cause of death. And admitting physicians who can no longer hand a medication order to a unit clerk to input but must actually enter it themselves will let Administration know what they think of Meaningful Use.
We dig deeper into Meaningful Use to share these experiences. At the Bottom line, Meaningful Use is more about the Bottom Line, than health care delivery. So, let's focus on compliance mapped against good clinical work we were planning anyway, and get our share of Federal Funds. And maybe ... the funding can move us more quickly to the right thing. Our Meaningful Use Monitor tools go beyond Certified EHR technology in guiding your compliance; we minimize compliance efforts, make your teams knowledgeable and efficient, and preserve your funding with solid defense against CMS audit.
